Nikon D800e What's in the box? A miracle!

After waiting 3 months for my D800e to arrive from B&H, I placed an order two weeks ago with long-time supplier Midwest Photo Exchange (www.mpex.com).  Today I got the call, and 180 miles round trip later had my camera.

It's not a camera.  It's the most sophisticated, sensitive, and amazing instrument I've had the pleasure of using.

I got back from the trip, loaded the battery and a memory card (first one I loaded, brand new, was defective).

Took 6 shots, available light (mixed daylight and LED bulb)  using a Nikkor 60mm f2.8 macro lens.  (First one handy).

The one below was shot at f2.8, 1/80th second, ISO 1000.  The second shot is a 100% crop, totally unretouched. just rotated 180 degrees so you can read the text.

I guess that for a first test, this is perfect -- not, absolutely not, the way this camera should be used for best results.  That it did such a good job in such horrendous conditions says that Nikon has truly created something new, a quantum step beyond any 35mm that has preceded it.
